Classroom Rules

Kid’s Rules

These are the rules we have chosen for our classroom

Don’t Pinch

Don’t Hit

Don’t Spit

Don’t Yell

Don’t Run

Don’t throw things

Don’t take things that aren’t yours

Don’t tear books

Don’t use other people’s things

Don’t be Selfish

Don’t break things

Don’t bite

Getting the Rules into the Positive

Don’t leave the rules in the negative all year

Now students are ready to translate these rules into the positive. As a parent read, “Don’t hit,” you are to say, “You have learned not to hit people. What is it that we do instead of hitting?” “We are nice to each other” will probably be their response.

We are nice

We share

We walk

We talk out problems

We hold books nicely

We talk quietly

We take care of toys

We use our own things

We raise our hands before we talk

We line up quietly and keep our hands to ourselves
